My Goals
The Ultimate Aim
A Set Day Every Year
"Fishing 4 Mental Health"
Awareness Day August 16th
August 16th to become a set day each year.
Not just a set day in the Anglers Calendar but also in and around our Local Communities and this
needs to be Nationally!
The second Saturday in August every year, clubs the length and breadth of our beautiful nation can open their waters up and get people fishing.

Apparently its good for your Mental Health and Personal Wellbeing!

The Main goal here is to get people out of the house.
To start and try to interact with other people and the outside world in a safe, friendly and supportive manor. Whilst enjoying the beauty of nature and such a great sport that is Angling.
It doesn't matter what type of angling is close by or around you. Sea fishing's great fun and a great way to meet some new people, maybe even catch something for your dinner. Lakes and Canals bursting with life. Chasing that Monster Carp, Pike or Tench.
Rivers from small streams to mega tidal areas.
Offering everything you could want as an angler and more, from the Kings favoured Fly Fishing.
He's one of my supporters if you didn't already know!
Maybe try Running a Waggler along the far bank hoping to catch a nice Chub.
May be a specimen 10lb plus Barbel.

Facebook is a great tool for finding information out about fishing groups near you. Have a search and join some local pages. Ask some questions, people don't mind I promise you that!

Lets get people on the bank and not in a body bag please!

1 in 4 of use will suffer from some form of mental health illness in our lives.
Suicide is the biggest killer in men under the age of 45!
Its also the most preventable cause of death in the UK.
Together lets start

"Tackling the Stigma"

Fishing is a great sport and being out in the open and around nature should not just be limited to this
Great Nation. It needs to be a global thing!

Personal Aim's & Ambition's
My personal aims and ambitions are quite simple, In my head.
That's to make my family proud of me.
I don't feel very proud of myself, although people say I should be!
You see the man who groomed and abused me, well he went on to do the same thing to other kids!
He was eventually caught but I could have stopped it all and saved them.
I choose to hide my abuse through gilt and shame.

I've written a book all about my life, how I was groomed and sexually abused. How it all happened, how it feels like living with this hidden away eating your insides. How Mental Health really feels and how we can help.
Its to help people and try to let them understand they are not alone with their feelings. People will believe you, Help is out there.
Its getting loads of 5 Star reviews so it must be ok.

I've organised a great Charity Fishing Event Raising over £2000 for my charity IPSUM Swindon.

I've started a Campaign.
"Fishing 4 Mental Health"
Its going ok and its even being supported by the King!

I still don't feel like I have anything to be proud of yet, On a personal Level, that is.

Yes I have achieved a few great things, but I've not reached my goal.

I don't feel very proud of myself yet.
Hopefully one Day.

To my Wife Julie, my Children Jake & Lucy.
Step kids Harry & Megan.
Mum and Dad, Carol and the rest of my family.
I'm sorry for letting you all down, I love you all and thank you for keeping me going!

Love you All.

I would love to become a Mental Health Ambassador for a Tackle Company that can see my
Vision and Understand my Goals.

I want this set Day every year, August 16th.

I want my family to be Proud of me!

I want to feel Proud!
I wish to make my parents proud of me.
Here is a picture from back in the early 90's. My Dad received an MBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace. It was for services to his country during the First Gulf War. I've seen the King several times and been amongst Prince William and Harry as kids. I've even got a letter from the King so I'm not doing too bad.
I'm so Proud of my Dad, He is my Hero.
Jayden Simmonds, Catch Report
Send me your Catch Reports and lets get them on display. Drop me a little message about what fishing means to you.
Hers is young Jayden with an absolutely stunning Mirror Carp, Taken from a Swim called the Chinese at my Local Park Lake, Peatmoor Swindon. Jayden's a fantastic young angler and his knowledge and dedication to the sport at such a young age is fantastic to see. He's a cheeky little Sod and cant sit still but he is a great kid. You wouldn't go far wrong in keeping an eye on this young lad, he needs a good sponsor as we are talking the next Spooner or England Team Member with his potential.
Drop me a message and I will happy have a chat about the lad and set something up.
